Sa-Sa-Sa-Sa-Samantha FOX !!!
Admit it: If you're currently over 40years-old, in the eighties, you were in love with SAM FOX ...go on !
Having been known for her massive ...mmmmh talents (!) in Page 3 of UK's tabloid The Sun, Samantha Fox released her first record in 1986 at the tender age of 20 ...but the game became worldwide with her 3rd album, 1988's I Wanna Have Some Fun !
Model-turned-singer, matured, focused and ready for the big league, the Brit dance-pop queen was just that: a to-be universal sensation. At that time, dance-floors were led by the now-immortal Madonna along Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and newcomer Paula Abdul ...but Sam had a more street-oriented feel.
Rock attitude in a pop format.
The opening title-track is a hiphop groove that won't let go, while "Your House Or My House" relies on a catchy addictive bass-licks, to the rocknroll-keytar driven "One In A Million", to the party infused "You Started Something" all the way to the hot guitar leads of "Hot For You". The LP also includes a cover of Dusty Springfield 60s hit in "I Only Wanna Be With You", cleverly packaged for a new generation of wild teens.
The album's cornerstone and 3rd US single "Love House" is a heavy sub-rhythmic track, that features layers of tailor-made samples. The hit brings house-music to the unexpected masses of the late 80s ...deadly and totally infectious !
From topless to Top Of The Pops, from panties to Perfecto, the foxy sex-symbol babe with brains played her cards right has she is still today revered in clubs by the 80s-generation that adored her.
