In space, nobody can hear you die.

It's all business in deep inter-stellar blackness, as the traveling convoy receives a weak mayday-type signal from the LV-426 moon. Contaminated by face-assault and inseminated by force, the eye-less 8 feet tall reptile takes the party apart, one by one, in hopes to conquer new civilizations. Little did they knew, the crew learns they are expendable, under strict programmed orders from their owners, an evil corporation that vows to bring back the perfect organism for studies, back to Earth.

H.R. Giger's gothic morbid tale creations are put to life ...and death. The acid-bleeding mammoth Alien finally gets a host, silently grows in size and exponential strength and is now ready to absorb worldwide pop-culture. Matched by Ridley Scott's pacing and hypnotic suspense, the iconic life-form is the apex of from beyond horror.

Instant cinema hit, boosted by the current Star Wars influence, this macabre interpretation of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, brought the Alien brand into the mainstream and would display the dark side of the Space Race. Now part of this massive 80s sci-fi phenomenon, the Alien life-cycle goes from Egg, to Face-Hugger, to Chest-Burster, to fully grown Xenomorph ...to new badass protagonist heroine super-star Sigourney Weaver.

The Rambo-effect was later incorporated into 1986's canon-sequel Aliens ...inadvertently laying the canvas for 1987's Man Vs Monster to-the-death jungle battle: Predator.

July 18, 1986 - 2026: 40 years of: Aliens.

It's a fuckin' rampage.

Picking up right after the unexpected morbid events of 1979's Alien, in the blackness of space, this time they are ready ...and it shall be a bloody butchery.

"That's it man, game over man, game over !" Ripley is miraculously found and brought back to civilization. There, her story doesn't convince the company's patrons. Offered to face her fears, she accepts to do the unthinkable ...go back and investigate LV-426. Locked and loaded with a team of heavily armed, highly trained Marines, the rescue-crew meets death, destruction and a courageous 9 year old runaway girl.

The Xenomorph plagued compound becomes a trap ...and a race against the clock. And just like the first venture, we are kindly reminded that the Weyland-Yutani Corporation is working for itself and the interests of it's bio-weapon branch.

Mama Bear Vs Mama Bear.

Red hot from both Terminator and Rambo II, director James Cameron now crafts magic in dead space. Between massacre and motherhood, Aliens is a different animal. Platoon driven, fast paced and always gung-ho, this movie cemented the franchise firmly into the action / horror lexicon. Influencing the sci-fi genre, many other offspring shall be hatched.

The Queen is dead, long live the Queen ...yet the perfect organism forever lives on. Again lost in space, Ripley's final fate shall burst-out in 1992's Alien 3.
