Une monstruosité sort des abîmes.

Suite à une mutation nécrotique, le groupe deathmetal local NECROSIS se forge une identité unique. Après Tampa, après Stockholm ...et même après Sherbrooke, voici en directe du greater West-Island Of Montreal: CRYPTOPSY. L'hybride entre la crypte ...et l'autopsie, cette nouvelle monstruosité absorbera le globe en 5 années: top-chrono !

Des le premier riff et hurlement agonisant de Dan AKA Lord Worm sur "Gravaged: A Cryptopsy" leur mission est claire: annihilation totale. Le speedmetal intense de "Abigor" fond sous les blast-beats de percussion, tout comme la significative "Back To The Worms". Un groove mortel s'installe sur "Mutant Christ", une sourdine sainte, pour les disciples dévoués de l'extrême.

Sortit en cassette le 15 Juillet 1993, le démo Ungentle Exhumation fera le tour de l'undergound, sous une pluie de glorieuse critiques. Le deathmetal des Big Four est en changement constant, il est donc temps de creuser plus profond dans l'underground. La foule en veux, les lombrics se tortillent et l'industrie répondra.

Des l'été 1994, le groupe enregistrera leur premier disque-compact complet, pour le compte de l'étiquette allemande Invasion Records ...l'explosion sublime de: Blasphemy Made Flesh. Le Canada est maintenant un player dans l'échiquier deathmetal ...une nouvelle ère brutale.

Brutality of Biblical proportions.

Montreal's ungentle exhumation is rotting the scene. During the post-Tampa hype, the vile CRYPTOPSY now assaults the globe with some of the genre's sickest blasphemous exhibition. Day One for cryptic Canadian carnage !

Deathmetal reinvented: the vomit-vocals, the hyper-drums, the funk-bass and razor-guitars all clash into a filthy worm-eating exhumation ..."Close your eyes, this may hurt a lot."

Thrown head-first into a "Defenestration", the blunt impact is felt around the world. Sicker, faster and somewhat possessed, the almighty "Abigor" rules all, as he lays the "Swine Of The Cross". Power strikes from the deepest undergrounds with "Open Face Surgery", the unholy One arises into a "Mutant Christ" as the unspoken "Born Headless" savior crushes this naive competition.

Following their exit from Invasion Records, their next Wrong Again Records released slaughter shall re-write brutality as a whole. Blessed are the sick, this is deathmetal's ultimate blasphemy, 1996's orgiastic disembowelment None So Vile CD.

Indecent and obscene.

Caught between the tail-end of deathmetal's dominion and the unholy blackmetal takeover, a sweet-spot would be hatch. After 1994's Blasphemy Made Flesh CD, more repulsion would be facewashed. And then you'll beg: here are the lovely unspoken Kings ...CRYPTOPSY.

Following the cryptic roar from an Exorcist III movie-sample, "Crown Of Horns" defenestrate with power. With violence and precision, the imminent assault continues with "Graves Of The Fathers" and the hyperactive "Slit Your Guts" grinding. The eerie piano-intro of "Phobophile" chills to the bone, as instant Mach IV death-vomit terrorizes ear-drums.

Brutal perfection, as the blasphemous "Orgiastic Disembowelment" rips covenants apart, as Lord Worm spits out thick black blood. More extreme sportsmanship is displayed on "Dead And Dripping, while the fully rotted "Lichmistress" is exhumed under morbid deathmetal blasts.

Released by Sweden's tiny Wrong Again Records, the entire underground immediately went up in arms. Some of the slickest and sickest deathmetal entombed from beyond. A genre that had to go back to the drawing-board: CRYPTOPSY re-rewrites a page in the genre's bloody legacy.

Québec: a massive killing capacity.

June 1996 ...on top of the mountain, as two milestones were issued by some crazy mutants Canuck. CRYPTOPSY's None So Vile and KATAKLYSM's Temple Of Knowledge CDs ...a short, but defiant chapter in demented brutality.

Following the touring-cycle, the band would retool, after the exit of their nightcrawler-eating frontmen. From darkness, to street flair attitude, CRYPTOPSY's rebrand would present a new singer and new outlook on the extremes: 1998's Whisper Supremacy CD.

October 31, 2000 - 2025: 25 years of: And Then You'll Beg.

Another lesson in violence.

Following CRYPTOPSY's rebuilt with 1998's Whisper Supremacy CD, their new hardcore vibe would finally bloom, during metal's new millennium. More vile blasphemies are spewed ...and then you'll beg.

Rolling at 666 km/h, this new extreme rushes by "...And Then It Passes". A blunt attack, as "We Bleed" and the hyperactive "Voice Of Unreason" hits every nerve alive. More mid-toned guitars strikes as "Shroud" and "Equivalent Equilibrium" destabilizes the scene with it's unconventional death. Another exhumed surprise, as the 1993 cut "Back To The Worms" gets a modern facelift.

A new wave of fresh deathmetal, were traditions were overdriven by street-attitude ...CRYPTOPSY chewed us alive. This era would also close the lid on the band's stability, behind the mike. Leaving his post behind, DiSalvo's position would be filled on 2003's None So Live CD ...featuring new frontmen, local buddy: Martin Lacroix.

Back in writing-mode, CRYPTOPSY would seek familiar orgiastic disembowelments and issue 2005's Once Was Not CD ...featuring the returned preacher: Lord Worm.
