October 3, 2006 - 2026: 20 years of: The Open Door.
A modern fairy-tale.
Now global phenom, after 2003's Fallen CD ...the world was under their spell. During the torment of genres at the turn of the new millennium, one band shall caress us into deep paralysis: EVANESCENCE.
The poison is fed with a spoon on "Sweet Sacrifice", the devastation of "Weight Of The World" and chants of "Lose Control. With a punch, the dream-like sequence of "Lacrymosa", features string arrangements and full orchestral support. An ethereal vibe is presented on "Lithium", a powerful melodramatic poesy, while the very late-night power poem of "Call Me When You're Sober" is a reality we've all lived through.
Marvelous American metal-magic.
Picking up the pieces after an unexpected acrimonious split with main-writer Ben Moody, Amy Lee made sure her grandiose dreams wouldn't be left unfulfilled. Working with new creative partner Terry Balsamo, EVANESCENCE were now at melodicmetal's Pole Position. RIAA-certified Double-Platinum, they were now immortal.
Following a hiatus and complete band rebuild, EVANESCENCE would rise up, more mature than ever, with 2011's self-titled Evanescence CD.

October 11, 2011 - 2026: 15 years of: Evanescence.
Beauty in darkness.
While most medias labeled it the Amy Lee Project, the specific words you're looking for are: Melodic Goth Queen. Never going under, the updated band, now stronger than ever, hovers over the 2010s. The return of an icon: EVANESCENCE.
Loud arenarock takes-over, as soon as "What You Want" ablaze the scene. From mosh to majestic, the doom-metal of "Made Of Stone" is a crisp crunch, as we go through the open door, we arrive on "The Other Side". Pristine melodic metal is whispered on "Lost In Paradise" and on the equally tears-filled "My Heart Is Broken". The hot groove of "End Of The Dream" drives with a serious grip, while "Erase This" kicks with a proper punch.
Emotions you can cut with a knife.
After 2006's The Open Door CD, the scene was morphing. A massive influx of band-reunions and new newmetal, yet EVANESCENCE still had a firm stronghold on melodicmetal. From epic ballads to arenarock, never a one hit wonder, the band was now a must hear attraction.
Taking time off the Mothership, side-projects and soundtracks would spring out. EVANESCENCE would re-imagine some back-catalogue cuts, supported with full orchestra on 2017's sweet sacrifice Synthesis CD. Their next full cryptic creations would spring on 2021's The Bitter Truth CD.
