way more Helter Skelter.

July 7, 1987 - 2022: 35 years of: Faster Pussycat.

The Sunset Strip in the glorious 80s and The Cathouse Club, the EPCOT Center for hardcore rocknroll debauchery. The venue is owned by MTV VJ Riki Rachtman ...and FASTER PUSSYCAT sex-machine frontmen Taime Downe.

The LP's opening-cut "Don't Change That Song" is the meat and potatoes for hardrock. The sleaze-factor goes into overdrive into "Babylon", the L.A. anthem "City Has No Heart" and the metalized "Shooting You Down". "I got your number off the bathroom wall" of these lines that some one-nights can assess. The MTV-hit "Bathroom Wall" is plain hard rocknroll, with a kinky-twist.

These boys lived to tell, but sadly, already in 1987, the sleazerock genre had taken it's course. The RATTs, the MÖTLEYs and the WASPs had already destroyed the few remaining eardrums out there. 1987-88 would present a bigger and fuller hardrock-format with both British WHITESNAKEs and LEPPARDs: arena-rock.

Taking their name from the 1965 Russ Meyer cult-movie Faster, Pussycat ! Kill ! Kill ! ...these late night furious feline are: sex, drugs and rocknroll. One more shot, as the CATS would claw again with 1989's Wake Me When It's Over LP.
