Kicked out of their university, it's go time. As paranormal-activities runs rapid in the Big Apple, this motley crew rapidly becomes savior of the streets. Revered by the medias, all is smooth day-to-day money, until they face their final match, a from beyond apparition: Gozer ...and the marshmallow-man destructor.

From the spaced mind of writer / comedian / actor and motorhead bad-ass Blues Brother Dan Aykroyd, his child-like magic, matched with SNL's out-of-the-box type productions not only became a blockbuster phenomenon, but an instant signature of the wacky decade. A cool car packed with cool equipment, a cool business expedited by cool dudes. Now integral part of pop-culture's lexicon, the original Ghostbusters holds a very special place in hearts of fantasy / comedy movie aficionados.

The Ray Parker Jr. title theme-song single also became an iconic anthem. The beloved "Who you gonna call ?" hook was an MTV smash-hit and is still a corner-stone melody forever linked to the Reagan years. From silver-screen to worldwide acclaim, to pop-soundtrack, to themed toys, to video-games, to breakfast-cereal, to anime-series ...the Ghostbusters are quintessential 80s ...the Ghostbusters are forever !

The Summer 1989 Ghostbusters II sequel would not be as successful, as the innocence and story-line suffered. Fans were also being fed 1987 Predator and Robocop extremes as the sci-fi landscape of the era was under serious attack from a returned dark-winged hero: Batman.
