A blueprint for the future ?

A young George Lucas goes full clockwork orange and envisions a lifeless dystopia, ruled by mechanics in a complete Orwellian-state. Before the Empire and the Rebellion ...there was the predictable sad life of THX 1138.

Comply and everything shall be fine.

Drugged and secluded, the masses knows only one thing: be productive. Behaviors suppressed, always surrounded by white walls and Police droïds, this mindless society lives in a cold vision of a near distant future. Yet a woman, for a moment in time, dares the impossible ...she is: LUH 3417. Will she change THX 1138's fate ?

Too unorthodox for the 70s, a renewed interest sprung following the Star Wars trilogy commercial juggernaut. Going under the blade in 2004, the enhanced Director's Cut underwent a massive Lucas facelift, yet the presentation remains a graffiti-less aseptic utopia.

"Let us be thankful we have commerce. Buy more. Buy more now. Buy more and be happy." Looking at 2026's current surveillance, digital-worlds and artificial-intelligence technologies ...this movie doesn't seem too out of phase now.
