Following the Black Album's definite influence on the genre, many acts tried to tame down the pace. Most were left to bite the dust, yet this also led the way for a major thrashmetal facelift: Groove-Metal. Led by PANTERA, SEPULTURA and FIGHT, it was now time for ex-VIO-LENCE Robb Flynn to make the Bay-Area roar again ...welcome MACHINE HEAD !

The skins are loudly hit as the drums cracks this deafening silence, walk right here into the metal church ...fellow "Davidian". A ten ton hammer of groove and attitude, newmetal's grip on the scene is real. Sick riffing and aggressive vibes are present of "A Thousand Lies" and the ingenious hooks of "Block".

The steamrollers of "The Rage To Overcome" and the none-coagulated "Blood For Blood" brings a renewed outlook on the decade-old thrash-scene. These "Real Eyes, Realize, Real Eyes" as this torn society is shedding rotted skin, while the pit-friendly "Old" brings air-guitar exercise to another level.

Synonymous with a tormented mid 90s USA, following the Rodney Kings riots, the hate and disenfranchised youth needed more adrenaline in their daily heavymetal-dose. MACHINE HEAD is part of the answer to this degenerational drought.

The Bay's far beyond driven assault is produced by new scene-shaper Colin Richardson. Burn My Eyes's modern-tone and crisp attack really is the soul of a new metal-machine. The plant rolls on full steam and shall hit again with more blood, sweat and tears with 1997's The More Things Change... CD.

October 27, 2003 - 2023: 20 years of: Through The Ashes Of Empires.

They're back.

Hail the new millennium, where a new-wave of fresh metal finally was upon us. Strong returns from EXODUS, ANTHRAX, ANNIHILATOR and the eventual JUDAS PRIEST rebirth. After both disappointing 1999's The Burning Red and 2001's Supercharger CDs ...the angst and rage were burning their eyes again. No more nümetal-flair and angrier than ever, MACHINE HEAD are back.

"Hear me now..."

Sneaking in stealth-mode, "Imperium" suddenly explodes with high-gain modern-thrash. Violence and force attacks from all corners, as we "Bite The Bullet" and the final-fight approaches as you are "In The Presence Of My Enemies". Aural-devastation is an understatement !

Molten-metal hits every nerve on "Left Unfinished" and the new progressive ascensions of "All Falls Down". The band's new vibe spews venom, as they "Wipe The Tears". Never sounded so vile and never looking back, this return to form rings like a shotgun blast !

Also a mini-reunion, as guitarist Phil Demmel would join the fold, re-animating 40% of the classic VIO-LENCE line-up. The Bay-Area is alive. Fully self-produced, these ten ton soundwaves re-ignited the interests of Roadrunner Records who then made sure this lethal-metal was in every metalhead's playlist. With no Stop-sign ahead, the band would strike again with 2007's The Blackening CD.
