SPIRITUAL BEGGARS
1994 - Spiritual Beggars.
more SPIRITUAL BEGGARS.
way more Helter Skelter.

February 1994 - 2024: 30 years of: Spiritual Beggars.

Mike Amott goes into the wild.

After the CARNAGE and CARCASS trend-settings, melodic-deathmetal six-string virtuoso Michael Amott would give the scene a full 90º odd-ball: the hippie tribe of SPIRITUAL BEGGARS.

Hard mid 70s tone is cranked on "Yearly Dying" and the driving "Under Silence". Cool and rebellious, the riff-based vibe slashes speakers with razor-blades on "Pelekas" and the ultra BLACK SABBATH-y "If This Is All". The overdrive groove keeps pouring on "The Space Inbetween" with it's fat bite and bohemian vocal melodies. The counterculture is alive and well.

In 1994's post-grunge, the US had KYUSS, MONSTER MAGNET and legends CORROSION OF CONFORMITY rocking to a different vibe ...Europe now had it's very own stonermetal band.

Straight outta Sweden, the SPIRITUAL BEGGARS would hit again hard with 1996's Another Way To Shine CD ...while in unison, the hyper-active Amott would revisit his deathmetal roots with his new trend-setting project: ARCH ENEMY.
